Every image here has a paper trail.
I am Walther Fuchs. I hold a doctorate in art history from the University of Zurich and I have spent three decades working with pictures — as a researcher, as a publisher, and as someone who has spent a great deal of time in collections looking at things closely.
Most shops selling reproductions of historical art will not tell you where the file came from. Often they do not know. The image passed through a stock library, a scraper, an upscaler, and arrives on your wall with no history at all.
I can tell you, for every print in this shop: which collection holds the original, when the work was made, when it entered the public domain in your country, and why I chose it over a hundred others. That information sits on the product page, not in the footer.
I do not have the largest catalogue in this market. I have a small one, and I can defend every sheet in it.
