- A 50 × 70 cm frame, no mat. Image 36.55 × 48.62 cm, 1.7×. Margins 6.73 cm each side, 9.94 cm top, 11.44 cm bottom.
- If you mat it
- Go one frame size up and cut the window three millimetres inside the printed image on every side: 20.90 × 28.00 cm for the small sheet, 35.95 × 48.02 cm for the large one. Off-white or warm white board, acid-free. Do not trim the sheet.
Image sizes and margins are calculated from the catalogued sheet size, with the picture at the optical centre (46.5 / 53.5).

The series
Harunobu's Eight Views of the Parlour moves the classical Eight Views of the Xiao and Xiang rivers indoors: a towel rack stands in for returning sails, a floss shaper for evening snow, a clock for the evening bell. These are among the first full-colour woodblock prints ever made, from the years when the technique was new in Edo.
What we measured
9487 px over the catalogued height of 28.6 cm: 843 dpi at original size, 496 dpi at 1.7× on the 50 × 70 cm sheet. Both above the 300 dpi our printer asks for; nothing is enlarged in software. Measured 23 September 2026 from the museum's info.json.
What we are allowed to sell
The print dates from the 1760s and is in the public domain everywhere we sell. The Art Institute of Chicago publishes its public-domain images under CC0.
Printed by Gelato on 200 gsm fine art giclée paper with pigment inks. A reproduction, not an original woodblock print, and not sold as one.
